Candy Talk Records is back with its nineteenth release featuring new reworks of Physically by label head, DJ Colette. She continues with her ongoing collaboration with her friend, the east coast deep house aficionado, Mr. Pete Moss.

Known for his outer space dance floor excursions on labels such as Ovum and Dessous, Philly's Pete Moss is recruited again to rework Colette's pristine vocals after his well-received mixes of Dreams (CTR017). Pete delivers two stunning mixes of Physically for Candy Talk Records on its nineteenth release (CTR019).

A genre-bending artist, Moss creates an entirely new world with his take on Colette's song; his remix kicks off with chugging drum programming layered on top of a rhythmic filtered synth pattern. This synth gesture progressively notching up the envelope filter gives way for stuttered staccato vocal fragments drenched in spacious reverb. A sublime centerpiece synth pad arrives, laying the bed for Colette's serene vocals to emerge.

The dub sees him keeping the same aesthetic from the full vocal mix, with its dubbed out downward bass motive and its stuttered quantized drums, but replacing the main vocal gestures with repetitive tape-delayed vocal feedback loops. A perfect compliment to the full vocal mix for those looking for a more cerebral voyage.

Moss' two mixes on this single launch Colette's vocals into orbit, creating a space-like soundscape that brings with it late-night dance floor vibes that work perfectly as an aperitif or the main dish.
